Since moving northeast of detroit, I have tried a few thai restaurants and was not impressed with any until I tried Amarin. I've tried the Pad Thai at the Warren & Shelby location and it has been amazing each time! The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because they close at 9:30pm on Saturday - I think that's too early for a Saturday night. The good news is I made it there at 9:35pm last Saturday and they waited until I picked up my order to close :-)

My mom and I, as lovers of Thai food, finally decided to try this place. We both ordered Hot and Spicy soup, me shrimp; her chicken. Different from our usual, it was very good...but very spicy! I actually had spice burned lips! I'm skipping this soup next time. Mom ordered the King and I and I had Pad Thai Chicken - both were amazing. I have some food allergies and unfortunately curry is one of them. I will most likely order the Pad Thai every time we go. (Good thing I love it.) Let's talk spring rolls, ok? Get them. Get them in your belly. The sauce with the spring rolls is absolutely amazing. I dream of the sauce. Overall the price is right, the portions are hearty, the service was friendly, and the food was delicious. So why not 5 stars? The menu choices lacked for me; I was looking for something specific and they do not have it. It is what it is, but this place is definitely a keeper.

This is alright Thai food. Annoyingly, it is closed on Mondays... and for some reason I most often want to pick up Thai on Mondays. I really like the interior style of the place.

I ordered the the veggie spring rolls, their Tom Kha soup and the seafood coconut curry med + spicy. The seafood platter was delicious and just the right amount of spiciness. There was lots of fresh veggies and served two people. Their spring rolls was the best I've had and I've been to a lot of Thai places. Instead of meat for the soup I got it with just mushrooms and it was great. Our waitress was wonderful, the place has a lovely decor and I loved the booths. If you're in the mood for spiciness or just want to try something new, I suggest you check this place out! My friend and I ended up getting two appetizers and two entrées (each one fed two people) for only 34 bucks !!! (including tip). We had lots to take home as well. Great place, I will be coming back !

There is really nothing about Amarin Thai that sets it apart from the millions of other Thai restaurants in metro Detroit. As a matter of fact, it is literally right down the street from a much superior Thai restaurant. So I can't really see any reason to go here. Positives: The atmosphere is nice. The booths are huge and can seat lots of people. Negatives: The food is nothing special. The Pad Thai was on the lower end of Pad Thais. The sauce was thin and bland. The tofu was kind of weird. The spring rolls are decent, but that should be a no-brainer. The service was pretty bad. My friend and I were the only people in the whole restaurant during lunchtime, and the waitress never checked up on us. If I needed a refill or anything else, I had to call over to her or physically walk my drink up to the counter. Lame. It wasn't the worst food I've ever had, but I don't see any reason to go back here at all. Sorry Amarin!

Basing my review off their tofu fried rice. It's the only thing I've ever ordered from here and it's my favorite! Not sure if it's the preparation or just the type of tofu they have that gives it its great texture but I'm a fan.

We really like the Amarin restaurant in Roseville. So we were in the Shelby area and thought we would try their other location. This is no longer an Amarin restaurant. It has changed owners, name and menu. The food was good. But the prices are much higher. I can get the same quality and tasting food for less at many other restaurants in the same area. We will be sticking with the Amarin in Roseville.

This was my 1st time to this Amarin Thai - I am a weekly visitor to the original one over on 12 & Hoover. I will continue going to 12 & Hoover. This one wasn't nearly as good as the other location. I was there on a Tuesday, which is when many restaurants and grocery stores get their fresh deliveries of produce and what not... well my dishes didn't taste fresh at all. I basically had appetizers and soup... Shrimp Won Ton Soup - tasty fishy... so shrimp were probably on their last legs... weird if they use frozen shrimp. Spring rolls - at the other location they are fantastic... here they were chewy and they just tasted different - again, not as good or fresh. Chicken satay - totally skimped on the peanut sauce here. It wasn't crowded at all... so maybe this one is lacking business and they try to stretch things out... not good. That's no way to attract a crowd, by selling less than fresh food. I did like the seating here better. The booths are like the Thai style wood booths at the other one, but much easier for us big gals to get in and out of. So I'll go here when I'm in a pinch, but my tummy belongs to the one on 12 & Hoover.

There's a few things I really love about Amarin: 1) Dine in is great. They have TABLES! It's not just a carryout place and it's not a carryout place that "has a couple of tables if you want to dine in." 2) The quality of the ingredients is excellent in both Carry Out and dining in. They use the right amount of oil, the right amount of sauce and the food isn't over or under-cooked. It's perfect. Here's a few tips: Tip #1: If you expect your Thai food to be unreasonably spicy like I do ... you may want to find a different Thai place (Ban Thai comes to mind). I ordered my food "As hot as you can make it". They called this "Hot Plus Plus", I said "more plusses please." Normally, Thai restaurants require you to take your heat level down a notch to avoid getting a hole burned in your stomach. On the flip side, if you're not a fan of hot food but like Thai flavor, this might be the place for you. Tip #2: Call ahead. Their hours seem to be in an ever-changing time vortex. They used to be open at 11:00 AM on Sunday, then noon, then they weren't open until 3:00, now they're closed all day on Monday. Expect more changes. Tip #3: Avoid the Thai Iced Tea. It tastes like ... bamboo mixed with milk and boiling water. Wait ... that's not their fault. Thai iced tea just sucks and simply "shouldn't be". The service is great. Carry-out is almost always around ten minutes for two orders. They're a little pricier than a few of the other locals and I'm not sure that it's worth it, but I keep ordering from there so maybe the problem lies within the reviewer. Four stars. Three stars. I don't know. I'm going to err on the side of four since evidence suggests I love the place.

This has become my go-to place for Thai food. It's pretty good (however, I only ever order Pad Thai, so I actually have no idea how good anything else is) and moderately priced. I do LOVE the Kalee Pub, and have tried to convert everyone I possibly can (delicious little chicken, potato and curry pies in one of the flakiest crusts ever!) I know other yelpers prefer the place on the south side of Hall Rd., but I ate there once (granted, it was like 6 years ago) and thought it was AWFUL! So here's my recommendation to eat at Amarin!

The prices are really good for the amount of food you get. My boyfriend and I usually get one dish and share it, because its big enough for the both of us. Their thai tea is really good too! Their food usually has just the right amount of spice too. I usually get med. spice, and its usually really good, not spicy enough to make it inedible, but really good.

Very rude! Poor customer service! I don't know if the food was good, because I could get past the rude girl taking my order on the phone. I will not even waste my time or money. There are PLENTY of great thai restaurants in the area!

I usually love this place, before I moved to LA, I probably would have given this place 4 or 5 stars. I used to come here all the time, the Gang Gai and Pad Thai were two of my favorites. After my move and visiting the area again, I wanted to bring an out of towner to the restaurant expecting to blow his mind with how great the food was, unfortunately it was only mediocre. I'm not sure is it is the difference in the states where I have had Thai food now but after having Thai in LA, the Thai back home in Michigan is not even close, at least not at Amarin. I still love the place and will return when I am in town, bu the hype of this place has definitely gone down...

Generous portions. Although it might not be true Thai food, it is still very good and worth the trip.

I love Thai food. And I've had good Thai and bad Thai. This place is really good. I prefer Orchid Thai on Monroe in Detroit the most, but Amarin is a good close second. I've never dined in, just carry out, so I can't comment on the waitstaff, etc.. The food I've had is very good and the spice is on the safe side.

I am telling you if you love Thai... then you HAVE to come here. You also should come here is you have a love for LARGE Portions and well... a clean restaurant LOL!!! I eat here every Tuesday and have a severe "Pad Thai w/ chicken addiction" I have had lots of Thai, lots of "spicy Chinese passed off as Thai" I have had. This place is different, it is more authentic, there is FLAVOR (get that crazy concept) with the HEAT, not just HEAT. I will get about three large meals out of one order, and love the spice tray they have complied for those people who love to bring the heat like myself. Nice cheap place to get some good eats & and a fried banana :)... and lunch for two days.

Not bad, a slight bit above mediocre for the Pad Thai which will make em or break em for me when it comes to Thai cuisine. If you like good Thai stick with Pi's Thai which has been number one for me for years and years.
